I bought this beautiful dress in the summer with a £250 Karen Millen voucher I won for my style blogging. It was a whopping £215 but is 100% an investment dress. I knew it would look great in all seasons, even though it was released as a summer occasion dress.
Now I know you ALL have that one Investment dress or expensive occasion dress you’ve only worn once….
There is probably pictures of you plastered all over Facebook in it and you’ve probably hung it up with no intention of wearing it again or at least until everyone has forgot about it in a few years.
Here is what you’re going to do to take your favourite occasion dress from summer to winter OR to reinvent the outfit.
ADD A SUPER FANCY STATEMENT COAT WITH TIGHTS. We all have that one fancy or colourful coat hanging in our wardrobe that we’ve worn once because it looked amaze on the hanger. It’s not a practical buy it’s a LUST buy. It could be a coat, blazer, biker jacket, fur or covered in sequins.
Get it out and make it the centre of your outfit, the rest of the outfit will work in and under it.
I LOVE sumptuous colours, luxurious looking textures, statement prints and flattering shapes.
And most importantly you’ll be warm. If you get the coat just right you won’t need to take it on and off, it will just be your outfit and keep you at the right temperature.
Side note: Mustard isn’t actually a colour that suits me being a Clear Winter. It looks best on Autumns. However, I always make sure I wear it with a complimenting colour such as black and ALWAYS wear a strong suiting colour on my lips to brighten eyes and skin tone.
My favourite is Mac Viva Glam Red.
